Nikko said he “went out and threw the Frisbees very well on Sunday” once he got going and played smart golf after a bit of a shaky start.
After birding the first hole and getting some momentum going Nikko missed a putt on hole 2 went out of bounds on hole 3 but hit a big putt for a 4 to save par. He went on to miss birdies on the next few holes and then bogeyed hole 7.
Billings started off hot on the lefty friendly front tying up the match after hole 7 with birds on 4 of the first 7 holes and no bogeys.
The back nine was not so friendly for Derek as Nikko came on strong making birdies on almost every single hole on the back nine.
Billings went ob twice on hole 10, Nate Doss went ob on hole 13 and both just kind of fell off leaving the race down to just Nikko and Barry.
Nikko hit a big putt on 15 after crashing a monster drive behind the basket and increased his lead to 3 over Schultz.
Schultz kept pace slowly but surely gaining strokes all along the way and came in with the low score of the round at 49, but with a 5 stroke lead over Barry to start, Nikko held on to win by 3 carding a 51 and taking home the $2065.00 first place prize.
Nikko added that “the Wizard was the big difference all weekend in that wind and key to the victory using it for his shorter drives, lay ups and of course putting”. NIkko carries 5 different wizards in a range of flex from Super-soft to soft and medium.

I’m pretty sure this WIN moves Nikko into first place on the national tour race as well as tops in earnings for the year.
Next up is a small event in Louisville this weekend then who knows from there until the next NT event the Brent Hambrick in Columbus Ohio in a few weeks..
